Promoting fairness in northeast Alberta

Alberta’s Ombudsman and a team of investigators will visit St. Paul and Bonnyville in mid-November.

The visit provides area residents an opportunity to meet with investigators if feel they have been treated unfairly by an Alberta government department, agency, board, commission, a designated professional body, or Alberta Health Services’ patient concerns office.

“We’ve been fanning out across Alberta since mid-2013 in a bid to help Albertans understand the services our office provides,” said Peter Hourihan, Alberta’s Ombudsman. “Through this, we’re able to reach communities that may not otherwise have direct, personal contact with a member of our staff.”

Residents can book appointments on the following dates:

Tuesday, November 18
St. Paul
FCSS Meeting Room (lower level)
5101-50 Street
11 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Wednesday, November 19
Bonnyville Boys & Girls Club
4714-48 Street
9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to call ahead first if they want to speak with an investigator, as not every complaint will fall under the Ombudsman’s jurisdiction. Call toll-free 1-888-455-2756.
