Appeals Secretariat

(AISH, Income Support, and More)

Yes! The Alberta Ombudsman can investigate complaints about government programs such as Alberta Supports / Income Support and AISH. Before you make a complaint to us, we want to make sure you’ve tried to resolve your complaint directly with the people involved. You may be able to raise your concerns to a supervisor or manager. If you are still not satisfied, you may be able to raise your concerns to the Appeals Secretariat. Here’s the information for you and some tips on how to make your complaint.

How to appeal a decision to the Appeal Secretariat

Most decisions about your benefits can be appealed through the Appeals Secretariat. It is important that you make sure to appeal within the deadline from the date you received the decision in person, by phone or letter or were told about your right to appeal.
