The Alberta Ombudsman does not have jurisdiction to investigate complaints about schools and universities.
If you have a complaint about schools or universities, you may wish to contact your school, school district office, college or university directly to ask about complaints and appeal options or check their website for more information.
If you need information about filing a complaint about a teacher or teacher leader, you may wish to contact the Alberta Teaching Profession Commission (ATPC).
If you have a complaint about a private career college, you may wish to submit a complaint to the Private Career Colleges (PCC) branch after completing all of the school’s internal complaint mechanisms.
If you receive a final decision or response from an Alberta government department, agency, board, or commission, you may contact us to submit a complaint.
