Yes! The Alberta Ombudsman can investigate complaints about final administrative decisions made by the professional colleges that license and regulate healthcare professionals. Before you make a complaint to us, we want to make sure you’ve tried to resolve your complaint directly with the people involved. Here’s the information for you and some tips on how to make your complaint.
How to Complain to a Professional Health College
Health professionals are regulated in Alberta and are members of their respective professional colleges. The Alberta Ombudsman’s office cannot investigate individual health professionals, like doctors or nurses, but we can investigate complaints about the professional colleges that license and regulate them.
To make a complaint about a health professional, you may do so by contacting the appropriate health college:
