The Alberta Ombudsman’s office does not have the jurisdiction to investigate complaints about insurance companies.

For life, health, and travel insurance, you may wish to submit a complaint to the OmbudService for Life and Health Insurance (OLHI).

For concerns about Alberta Blue Cross, refer to their website.

For home, automobile and business insurance, you may wish to submit a complaint to the General Insurance OmbudService (GIO).

If you have a complaint about an insurance agent or broker, you can submit a complaint with the Alberta Insurance Council (AIC).
